SNOW HAIKUS
Snow
Shards of glittering glass
An icing sugar dusting
I stepped in to the snow
Jen Lowe
A cold wintery night
Freezing cold night sky
Icy discs lay on the ground
Slow falling snow flakes
Jacob Loach
Winter Mania
flaky snow on the ground
snowflakes drifting down
covers streets and cars.

Persuasive Writing
we are learning to write persuasively.
We know that each piece of persuasive writing starts with ann introduction which states the problem and our position on the topic.
We then give our argument.
Our writing then ends with a conclusion which restates our opinion.
Here is Eva's persuasive writing. The topic was "A movie should be played every afternoon at school" This is what Eva thought.
You go to school in the morning not very excited at all. You work for hours and you think you should get a movie after lunch? As good as it sounds it actually isn't a very good idea.
Firstly there i s only an hour after lunch so you would not be able to finish the movie leaving a crowd of disappointed children.
Secondly, there are so many movies so that if we watched one each day we would eventually watch all the good children movies and would have to move on to little kids movies, which wouldn't be much fun.
Another point is that we will be wasting one hour of valuable learning time each day and we will get behind in our work.
Therefore we shouldn't watch a movie every single day.

QUESTIONING
As part of our reading today we watched the part of Close Up last night where they discussed the cost of the All Black jersey in New Zealand and off shore.
Before we watched the clip some QUESTIONS we had were
"Why are the jerseys so expensive in NZ when it is our team?" - Ross
"Did Addidas give the overseas company the right to sell the jerseys?" Bethany
"Why is Addidas being so greedy?" Jacob
DURING:
"How can they sell it so much cheaper overseas?"
"Why are other countries selling the All Black jerseys?"
"Will Addidas eventually drop the price in NZ?"
AFTER:
"Will Addidas lower the prices to match overseas prices?"
"How will this debate affect Addidas products in NZ?"
WHAT ARE SOME QUESTIONS YOU HAVE AROUND THIS DEBATE?
